SBU documents poor repair of Ukrzaliznytsia rolling stock

In city of Kyiv, the SBU documented an illegal scheme of false repair of machine complexes and railway tracks of Ukrzaliznytsia.

According to the experts, the further operation of the tracks after such “repairs” posed a potential threat to the stable operation of critical infrastructure of the railway industry.

The SBU operatives established that the offenders had conspired with the management of Ukrzaliznytsia. For several years, the perpetrators provided equipment maintenance services on trains and machines only on paper. Instead, rolling stock continued to operate in a technically defective condition, jeopardizing the stable operation of the railway infrastructure.

The SBU initiated relevant examinations, which confirmed the fictitiousness of the services provided and the loss Ukrzaliznytsia suffered.

In January 2021, Kyiv Local Prosecutor's Office No.6 served the offenders six notices of suspicion of misappropriation, embezzlement or conversion of property by malversation. The indictments were sent to Pechersk District Court of Kyiv.
