SSU urges not to download programs from suspicious emails

Over the past few days, the SSU has been recording phishing emails allegedly sent on our behalf.

At first glance, they seem plausible, but the data in these letters indicate that they are fake.

In particular, the attackers, on behalf of the Situation Centre of the SSU Cybersecurity Department, inform about development of specialized software to strengthen cyber defence and remove viruses. Then, they offer to download software allegedly from the SSU’s official website.

We would like to inform you that the Situation Centre of the SSU Cybersecurity Department has not sent any emails regarding any software!

We remind you that the official domain of the SSU website is ssu.gov.ua. The hackers offer to download software from a different site.

If you receive such letters, do not download any programs. And if you do - reinstall the operating system of your computer and inform the SSU by phone: 0 800 501 482 and by e-mail: callcenter@ssu.gov.ua

Such fake emails may be part of special operations of russian special services aimed at undermining information and cyberspace in Ukraine.

The SSU Cybersecurity Department warns: never follow links and do not open files from unknown subscribers in mail, messengers or SMS or on dubious websites.
