In Kirovohrad region, the SSU prevented large-scale land and water pollution. The representatives of a water supply utility company illegally dumped technological waste in the Inhul river.

This caused an increase in the concentration of harmful substances over 2.5 hectares of the river system area.

According to the examination findings, nitrate level in the soil 13 times exceeded the norm.

Within the criminal proceedings initiated by the SSU, the chief of a department of the utility company was notified of suspicion of pollution or damage to land.

The court is going to decide on the preventive measure.

Pre-trial investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the offence and bring to justice all those involved.

The SSU Kirovohrad Office carried out the operation under the supervision of the Kirovohrad Region Prosecutor’s Office.
