The SSU prevented an attack on a deputy of a united territorial community in Kherson region. A special operation resulted in the detention of the man behind the crime – head of this community.

According to the investigation, the community head had a commercial conflict with the victim, who worked in agricultural business. He was willing to pay USD 7,000 for a physical assault on the deputy causing serious bodily harm and disability.

The SSU documented the ‘perpetrator of the attack’ receiving the advance payment from the official.

As part of investigation, law enforcement officers simulated an attack on the victim’s car near Odesa and took photos to ‘confirm’ this.

The suspect was detained in a village in Mykolaiv region after handing over the rest of the payment to the ‘attacker’.

The detainee has been notified of suspicion of intentional grievous bodily harm. The court is to decide on the measure of restraint.

The SSU Office in Odesa region carried out the operation together with the National Police investigators under the supervision of Odesa Region Prosecutor’s Office.
