SSU prevents illegal takeover of eight strategic enterprises in 2021
The SSU works to protect critical infrastructure and national economy. Since the start of 2021, the Service has prevented illegal takeover of eight strategic enterprises. Moreover, state ownership of fifty real estate properties was restored.
Over 2021, the SSU prevented budget losses of UAH 43 b (USD 1.6 b). Working proactively, the Service exposed and averted the attempted crimes.
In particular, the SSU investigation led to the court seizure of a part of Samara - Western Direction Oil Pipeline. Officials of PrykarpatZakhidTrans LLC illegally took possession of state property worth over UAH 200 m (USD 7.6 m) using forged documents.
In Dnipro, the SSU dismantled an illegal conversion center with UAH 800 m (USD 30.5 m) turnover. The organizers involved local enterprises in tax fraud, causing large-scale state losses.
In addition, the SSU exposed Ukraine’s largest cryptocurrency mining farm and seized nearly 5,000 computers. The perpetrators stole the electricity of
Vinnytsiaoblenerho JSC. To cover this, they used fake electricity meters. According to preliminary estimates, the scam caused over UAH 10 m (USD 382,283) of state losses.
The SSU disrupted a scheme to finance IAFs of the so-called LNR. Five Russian citizens involved in the purchase of coal products from LNR and DNR were notified of suspicion.
The Service also stopped the illegal use of Motor Sich JSC property worth UAH 18 b (USD 688 m).
Overall, the SSU initiated imposing economic sanctions against 1,006 legal entities and 640 individuals.
