SSU prevents series of arson attacks on military vehicles of Territorial Recruitment Centers in Dnipro

In Dnipro, the SSU and the National Police have detained a group of individuals preparing arson attacks on vehicles of servicemen of Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support, which maintain military records and mobilize the population.

The members of the group planned to use improvised incendiary devices, the so-called Molotov cocktails, to commit the sabotage.

To identify targets, the perpetrators drove around the city, trying to find car parks where military personnel leave their vehicles.

They were to receive an approval for the identified coordinates and arson targets from their russian handler.

According to the investigation, the offenders managed to set fire to one of the cars.

Due to a prompt response of the SSU and the National Police, the enemy plan was disrupted.

The attackers are four local residents, two of them aged 17.

They came to the aggressor’s attention in the early summer this year because of their activity in one of the Telegram channels, where they were looking for easy money.

The payment was to be transferred to a bank card issued to a bogus person.

Another task of the young agents was to make inscriptions on city buildings discrediting the Territorial Recruitment Centers.

In such ways, the enemy was trying to create a ‘picture’ for the russian media of the supposed anti-Ukrainian underground movement in Dnipro.

During the searches, the SSU seized mobile phones, components of a homemade incendiary mixture and a bank card with russian money on it.

The detainees were declared suspects under Article 194.2 of the CCU (intentional destruction or damage to property).

The suspects are in custody. Their criminal actions may be additionally qualified.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
