SSU detains five enemy accomplices who tried to create ‘insurgent movement’ to destabilize Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine has neutralized subversive activities of the Workers’ Front of Ukraine, a pro-kremlin organization, which, on russia’s orders, tried to set up protest movements in our country.

Under the guise of spreading neo-communist ideas, its members agitated Ukrainians to rebel against the government and lay down their arms to the invaders.

Among other things, the organization called on citizens of conscription age to evade mobilization, and on active servicemen - to disobey commanders’ orders and commit desertion.

The agitators also suggested that Ukrainian defenders unite in so-called ‘soldiers’ committees’ to collectively refuse to participate in combat.

To spread the kremlin’s narratives, the perpetrators created pages of their association on various social media, where over 30,000 users subscribed to them.

They also massively posted propaganda posters on the streets of Ukrainian cities with a QR code of their organization and calls to disrupt mobilization.

Every day, they visited at least 30 addresses placing posters on noticeboards or on the walls of buildings.

To print propaganda visuals, they set up clandestine ‘printing houses’ at their homes.

The SSU detained five organizers of these cells during special operations in Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Poltava and Kharkiv regions.

All the detained are local residents aged 20 to 32. Some of them are students, others are employees of enterprises or unemployed, who acted under the coordination the so-called ‘trade union handler’ from russia.

During the searches, the Service seized wholesale batches of propaganda material, communist literature, computers and mobile phones with evidence of the crime.

SSU investigators have notified the five detainees of suspicion under Articles 28.2,114-1.1 of the CCU (obstruction of the lawful activities of the AFU, during a special period, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy).

Three of the suspects are in custody. The court imposed round-the-clock house arrest with wearing of an electronic device on two others.

Efforts are underway to bring to justice all members of the pro-kremlin organization.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
