SSU detains FSB agent preparing terrorist attacks against territorial recruitment centers in Zaporizhzhia (video)
The SSU Counterintelligence has prevented a series of terrorist attacks by russia’s FSB against the servicemen of the Defence Forces in Zaporizhzhia, a large city close to the frontline.
As a result of the operation, an enemy agent was detained ‘red-handed’, preparing to blow up cars of local military enlistment offices.
On the FSB’s instructions, the man was to identify such vehicles and then install remote-controlled improvised explosive devices under them.
To identify targets, the asset daily monitored car parks near the military enlistment offices.
Later, he was to receive detailed instructions from his russian handler on the time and methods of the terrorist attacks.
Due to the SSU’s prompt response, the enemy plan was thwarted. The FSB agent was apprehended when he was conducting reconnaissance near a Defence Forces facility.
A mobile phone with evidence of the crime was seized from him.
The SSU also took action to protect the locations and routes of the AFU personnel.
The investigators established that the perpetrator had also been spying on transformer substations in Zaporizhzhia.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is a security guard of a local energy company, recruited remotely by the FSB in April this year.
He came to the aggressor’s attention through his daughter, who lives in moscow and cooperates with the russian intelligence.
The detainee has been notified of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law). The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Zaporizhzhia Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
