SSU detains FSB agent spying on Pokrovsk defenders under guise of UN volunteer

The SSU has detained an FSB agent in Donetsk region. He is a 34-year-old local volunteer of the UN World Food Program recruited by the occupiers.

Under the guise of volunteering, the traitor was spying on the locations of the Defense Forces in Pokrovsk sector, where most enemy attacks have happened.

The russian agent's assignment was to identify the locations of Ukrainian infantry and artillery defending the district center.

According to the investigation, to find the coordinates, the spy traveled around the district center and neighboring settlements under the guise of delivering humanitarian aid to local residents.

The agent used a messenger app to pass the intelligence to his russian supervisor, an FSB officer who has already been identified by the SSU counterintelligence.

Ruscists used the intelligence to plan new attacks on the town of Pokrovsk using guided bombs and FPV drones.

SSU CI officers have exposed the agent at the beginning of his reconnaissance activities and detained him. In addition, comprehensive measures have been taken to secure the positions of the Defense Forces.

During the searches, the SSU seized a detainee's cell phone with an anonymous chat in a messenger app, which he used to communicate with the FSB officer.

Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators have served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
