SSU detains fsb agent who targeted Ukrzaliznytsia relay cabinets and adjusted strikes on Odesa

The SSU has detained an fsb agent operating in Odesa region. The offender was performing russian tasks as part of reconnaissance and subversive activities, in particular fire adjustment and arsons.

The suspect was tracking the locations of the Defense Forces and guiding russian missile and drone attacks against them.

The enemy's priority targets included air defense systems protecting the city's airspace.

The traitor was also involved in the destruction of Ukrzaliznytsia relay cabinets.

This includes the arson of semaphores on important railway lines.

The SSU detained the agent red-handed after the first arson attack on a relay cabinet.

According to the investigation, the suspect was preparing to commit new sabotage attacks on transport infrastructure facilities.

The investigation revealed that the detainee was a 39-year-old local resident who was an fsb agent and had been staying in russia, where his father lives, for a long time.

The suspect came to the attention of the occupiers even before the start of the full-scale war, when he registered for military service in Krasnodar to obtain a russian passport.

Before the full-scale war, the offender returned to Ukraine, where he was later remotely recruited by the fsb and involved in subversive activities.

During the searches at the detainee’s home, the SSU found two F-1 combat grenades and a cell phone with evidence of criminal actions.

Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under three articles of the CCU:

  • 111.2 (high treason committed under martial law);
  • 113.2 (sabotage committed under martial law);
  • 263.1 (illegal acquisition and storage of ammunition).

The suspect is in custody, facing life imprisonment.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Odesa region under the procedural supervision of regional Prosecutor’s Office.
