SSU detains russian agent who hid weapons for terrorist attacks under child's bed
On May 9, 2023 the SSU CI exposed another member of the fsb agent net, which preparing a series of terrorist attacks against the command and special forces of the Defense Forces in Zaporizhzhia.
The day before, within a special operation in the frontline areas of the southern region the SSU has detained another two organizers of russian agent net.
Their accomplice was detained in the regional center, where he had arranged a cache with weapons and ammunition in the apartment under the bed of his 6-year-old daughter.
Among the weapons, the SSU seized a Kalashnikov assault rifle with loaded magazines, combat grenades and a large number of small arms ammunition.
According to the data, the offenders planned to use the arsenal with the aim of committing terrorist acts in the city and near the frontline.
The main targets of the offenders were representatives of the Armed Forces command and the SSU special forces.
The investigation established that the third member of the fsb agent net was a resident of Zaporizhzhia who overtly spread the pro-Kremlin views.
In the spring of this year, the malefactor came to the attention of the russian special services.
Being instructed by the supervisor, the malefactor set up a cache in the home where stored unregistered firearms and other munitions.
During the search, the SSU identified:
- 3 F-1 and RGD-5 combat grenades
- more than 800 rounds of ammunition for small arms
- 2 RGD-55MCH smoke grenades.
The malefactor was served a notice of suspicion.
The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime, including the sources of weapons.
The operation was conducted by the SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
