SSU detains russian agent who ‘led’ over 120 pieces of occupiers’ military equipment to outskirts of Kyiv (video)

The SSU Counterintelligence has detained an enemy agent who in the first days of russia’s full-scale invasion ‘led’ 128 pieces of the occupiers’ military equipment from Sumy region to Kyiv region.

The traitor turned out to be a resident of Sumy region, recruited by russian special services. From the first days of the temporary occupation of the region, he began to actively cooperate with the enemy and offered to guide them and show safe ways to Kyiv.

After the liberation of Sumy region, the agent continued to cooperate with the russian FSB and fulfill their assignments. He collected information on locations, numbers and weapons of Ukrainian Defence Forces.

The informant passed georeferenced coordinates of military facilities to the FSB, using secure electronic channels for transmission of data.

During the search of the agent’s home, the SSU seized computer equipment and mobile phones with evidence of his communication with russian handlers.

The detainee has been notified of suspicion of crimes under Articles 111.1 and 111.2 of the CCU (treason, treason committed under martial law). The court has decided to keep the suspect in custody.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Vinnytsia and Sumy regions in cooperation with the SSU Counterintelligence and Military Counterintelligence Departments under the procedural supervision of Sumy Region Prosecutor’s Office.
