SSU detains FSB agent group spying on Defence Forces in three Ukraine’s regions
The SSU has dismantled an agent group of russia’s federal security service operating in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv. As a result of a multi-stage special operation, three enemy accomplices were apprehended.
The assets acted separately from each other but were linked to the same russian handler. One of them carried out enemy tasks posing as a former law enforcement officer. When showing his ID, he provided a fake veteran’s certificate.
The men were recruited by the russian service through Telegram channels, where they were looking for quick money.
In exchange for payments, the occupiers sent them to search the area and covertly photograph locations of personnel and military equipment of the Defence Forces.
For example, in Kyiv and Chernihiv the invaders were interested in the locations of border guard detachments and the AFU control posts.
In Kharkiv, one of the traitors tracked the coordinates of Ukrainian fortifications defending the city.
The activities of the group were coordinated by a serving officer the FSB military counterintelligence. His identity has been established by the SSU.
All three agents were detained ‘red-handed’ while conducting reconnaissance near military facilities.
SSU investigators notified them of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspects are in custody and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
