SSU detains official of carrier company who provided buses to transport occupiers from Crimea to Kherson

In the course of stabilization measures in liberated Kherson, the SSU detained another enemy accomplice.

The offender is the owner of a local transport operator, which took part in the transportation of russian occupation groups during the seizure of Kherson.

His buses transported large numbers of ruscist personnel from the temporarily occupied Crimea to Kherson region.

Over 50 passenger transport vehicles - the company’s fleet - were involved in this.

After Kherson’s liberation, the enemy accomplice tried to escape to Moldova to hide from justice.

However, the SSU prevented this. SSU officers timely identified the entrepreneur, established his location and detained him on his attempt to cross the border.

According to the investigation, the suspect is the head of a large transport company specializing in passenger transportation, in particular to the EU states.

After russia launched its full-scale invasion, he supported the invaders and ‘rearranged’ his business in favor of the aggressor state.

To do this, the businessman ‘re-registered’ the firm in the occupation administration and opened bank accounts in russia.

In exchange for cooperation, the enemy promised not to interfere in his business and allowed to move freely around the temporarily occupied areas.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111-2.1 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state).

Court chose custody as a measure of restraint.

The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the involved to justice.

The SSU Main Directorate for Counterintelligence Support of Critical Infrastructure and Countering Terrorism Financing and the SSU Main Investigation Directorate exposed the offender jointly with the State Border Guard Service under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
