SSU detains member of Kherson regional council who helped Saldo open russian military hospitals in seized facilities
The SSU has detained another perpetrator who collaborated with russia during Kherson’s occupation.
The suspect is a current member of the local regional council. After Kherson’s seizure, she supported the invaders and offered them her assistance in the war against Ukraine.
Under gauleiter Saldo’s personal patronage, the collaborator was appointed head of the so-called ‘healthcare directorate’ within the local occupation administration.
In this ‘position’, she organized the conversion of seized hospitals into military hospitals for wounded ruscists.
The ‘official’ was also engaged in the supply of medicines for russian troops and the occupation authorities.
To keep a low profile, the collaborator chose an alias, which she used during her ‘registration’ with the fake institution and in her further work for russia.
After the liberation, the woman stayed in the city, hoping to evade justice by positioning herself ‘outside politics’.
After some time, she planned to flee to the temporarily occupied Crimea under an assumed name. But the SSU exposed the traitor in time and detained her.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served her a notice of suspicion under Article 111-1.5 of the CCU (collaboration, voluntary occupation by a citizen of Ukraine of a position related to the performance of organizational, administrative or administrative and economic functions in illegal authorities established in the temporarily occupied territory).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Kherson Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
