SSU detains two Internet agitators who worked for GRU and called to annex Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv to russia

As a result of counter-subversive efforts in southern Ukraine, the SSU apprehended another two enemy agitators.

The hostile actors massively spread calls on the Internet to support the kremlin’s aggressive policy and ‘accession’ of Ukrainian territories to russia.

In Mykolaiv:

an employee of a local lyceum was detained. The woman worked for the GRU’s information and psychological operations unit (part of the main directorate of general staff of the russian armed forces).

Following the GRU’s instructions, she created and administered an anti-Ukrainian group on the banned social network Vkontakte.

There, the traitor published ‘posts’ agitating to ‘annex’ Mykolaiv oblast to russia.

The aggressor’s asset also ‘suggested’ that Ukrainians should not resist the invaders and ‘agree’ to the seizure of southern regions.

To create a seeming popularity of the online community, the GRU artificially ‘added’ almost 30,000 to the subscriber count with the help of controlled russian bot farms.

In Zaporizhzhia region:

The SSU detained a member of a local NGO, who had worked for collaborator Stremousov at the onset of the full-scale invasion.

The ‘activist’ passed on fake information about alleged ‘growth of protest moods’ among the region’s population after the invaders’ air attacks.

Through such ‘cooperation’, the informant was ‘noticed’ by the russian intelligence, which engaged him in dissemination of kremlin narratives.

To do this, he created his Telegram channel and Facebook page, where justified russia’s armed aggression and occupation of parts of Ukraine.

SSU investigators have now served notices of suspicion to both agents under Article 436-2 of the CCU (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine).

The criminal activity of the Mykolaiv suspect was additionally qualified under Article 110.1 and 110.2 of the CCU (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability). The court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint for her.

The investigations are ongoing. The offenders are facing imprisonment.

The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv regions under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
