SSU detains two guards of russian torture chamber that operated during Kherson occupation
The SSU has uncovered another two collaborators who worked for ruscists during the occupation of Kherson and hid from justice after the city’s liberation.
The perpetrators are local man and woman who supported the aggressor at the beginning of the invasion.
For this, they were appointed to the ‘administration’ of a russian torture chamber, set up in a seized penal colony in Kherson.
They became ‘inspectors of the security unit’ and were given russian uniforms, weapons and IDs.
As the investigation revealed, the collaborators guarded the cells in which the occupiers imprisoned members of the resistance movement.
In these cells, the enemy tortured the victims and tried to force them to cooperate against Ukraine.
After Kherson’s liberation, both ‘guards’ kept a low profile and hid from justice, moving from place to place.
However, the SSU found and apprehended them.
SSU investigators notified the detainees of suspicion under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration).
The suspects are in custody and face up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Kherson and Zakarpattia regions under the procedural supervision of Zakarpattia Region Prosecutor’s Office.
