SSU detains two traitors who burned fire station in Kyiv region in first months of russian invasion
The SSU detained two traitors from the State Emergency Service who helped the enemy during the occupation of Kyiv region in February-March 2022. The operation was carried out with personal assistance of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.
The perpetrators are two officials of the 41st State Fire and Rescue Unit of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv region.
During the occupation of Vyshhorod district, they supported russian invaders and offered them their assistance.
The investigation established that on March 22, 2022, the traitors set fire to the fire station in the village of Ivankiv, following an enemy order.
The fire damaged the administrative building, destroyed property and office equipment.
In this way, the aggressor tried to leave the settlement without a functioning fire and rescue unit and intimidate local population.
In addition, the perpetrators provided personal data of resistance movement members, including former ATO fighters, to the enemy.
It was on their ‘tip-off’ that the ruscists broke into houses and kidnapped three locals who tried to put out the fire at the station.
The victims were then held in the jail in the local ‘russian commandant’s office’ until the region was liberated.
The traitors also received food and basic necessities from the invaders, which were brought to their homes, and had ‘permission’ to move freely in the district.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served both detained offenders notices of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
The court chose custody as a measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU is conducting the investigation under the procedural supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
