SSU detains chief of ‘russian post’ who organized distribution of ruscist press in Izium during occupation

In the course of stabilization efforts in the liberated areas of Kharkiv oblast, the SSU Counterintelligence exposed another collaborator.

The suspect is a 43-year-old employee of an Ukrposhta branch in Izium. After the city was captured, the woman supported the invaders and voluntarily cooperated with them.

In gratitude for her ‘loyalty’, Izium district gauleiter personally offered her to head a local branch of the russian post established by the aggressor.

In her new ‘position’, the traitor fulfilled the occupation administration’s orders to spread the kremlin regime through postal services.

To do this, she organized delivery of russian propaganda publications, e.g. Komsomolskaya pravda and Kharkov Z, to local population.

Copies of occupation newspapers were also forcibly distributed right at the post office.

In these ‘publications’, the authors justified russia’s armed aggression, discredited Ukraine’s Defence Forces and called on readers to support the invaders.

After Izium’s liberation, the enemy accomplice changed her address and mobile phone number and tried to evade justice.

However, the SSU found and detained her.

The woman has been served a notice of suspicion under Article 111-1.6 of the CCU (collaboration in form of information activities in cooperation with the aggressor state and its occupation administration); the court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint.

The investigation is ongoing. The suspect is facing up to 12 years in prison.

The SSU Office in Kharkiv region exposed the offender under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
