SSU detains ex-teacher who betrayed Ukrainian patriots to ruscists during battle for Kharkiv
The SSU’s cyber units have uncovered another ruscist supporter who collaborated with the enemy after the occupation of Kharkiv region.
The perpetrator is a 57-year-old former primary school teacher in Lukyantsi village, Lyptsi community. She was previously prosecuted for beating students.
During the occupation, the woman provided the invaders with the addresses of Ukrainian patriots in the community.
It was on her tip that the ruscists abducted and imprisoned several members of the resistance movement.
Among them were a local council member, a participant of the Anti-Terrorist Operation and father of a current officer of Ukraine’s National Police.
The abducted people were subjected to severe torture in the jail, including constant beatings and long periods without food and water.
In this way, the russian occupiers tried to obtain information on the Defence Forces battling for Kharkiv at the time.
However, the torturers failed to ‘beat’ information out of the captives and later released several of them.
One victim was taken to Belgorod region, where was held in captivity for 2 years and then exchanged for a russian militant.
As for the traitor, after the village was liberated she went to Kharkiv, hoping to evade justice.
The SSU established her location and apprehended her in a rented apartment.
The detainee was served a notice of suspicion under Article 111-2 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Kharkiv District Prosecutor's Office.
