SSU detains farmer-collaborator who smuggled UAH 13 mln worth of Ukrainian grain to russia during Kharkiv region’s occupation
In the course of stabilization efforts in the liberated part of Kharkiv oblast, the SSU detained another collaborator.
The offender is a farm owner from Kupiansk district, who was engaged in cultivation and sale of wholesale consignments of grain and oilseeds.
During the occupation, the woman began to collaborate with the invaders and voluntarily ‘registered’ her business with russia’s local occupation administration.
In July-August 2022, her farm harvested over 2,000 tonnes of crops worth almost UAH 13 mln (USD 346,000).
The collaborator then transported the entire batch of grain to Belgorod region and sold it to russian agricultural holdings.
Part of the ‘profit’ was transferred to the budget of the aggressor state as taxes.
After the liberation of the area, the farm owner tried to lie low and evade justice. However, the SSU found and detained her.
During the search of the suspect’s home, the SSU seized documents confirming her cooperation with the enemy.
Based on the collected evidence, the woman was served a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Article 111-1.4 of the CCU).
The court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Kharkiv region carried out the operational and investigative activities jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Kupiansk District Prosecutor’s Office.
