SSU detains group of enemy informants who guided russia’s strikes on Kharkiv
In Kharkiv, the SSU cyber units have exposed and detained two russian informants who collected data on the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city and directed ruscists’ attacks at these targets.
The enemy spotters were two unemployed residents of Kharkiv. They cycled in the city and took photos of the sites where, in their opinion, Ukrainian military personnel was based.
Later, the men marked these locations on a Google map and sent screenshots with the marks to their russian handler.
The SSU apprehended both suspects ‘red-handed’ when they were collecting intelligence on location of one of the units of the Defence Forces.
SSU investigators have served the detained individuals notices of suspicion. Court is to decide on measures of restraint for the suspects.
The SSU is checking their involvement in guiding russia’s Shahed kamikaze drone strikes on Kharkiv on the night of August 1.
The traitors are facing up to 12 years in prison.
The SSU Office in Kharkiv region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Kharkiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
