SSU detains FSB informant who guided russian Lancet drones at Mykolaiv
The SSU has detained another FSB informant who adjusted enemy air strikes on Mykolaiv region.
Relying on his coordinates, the occupiers were preparing a new combined attack on Mykolaiv using Lancet-type kamikaze drones and cruise missiles.
The aggressor intended to target sites with large concentrations of personnel and military equipment of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
The russian intelligence also expected to obtain from the agent the locations of air defence systems and mobile air defense teams protecting the city.
The collect intelligence, the occupiers recruited a local informant – a 53-year-old construction worker.
The asset was in contact with the blogger and FSB agent Sergei Lebedev (aka Lokhmatyi), who is hiding in Donetsk.
Through him, the spotter received instructions from the russian service to reconnoiter locations of Ukrainian troops.
To do this, the agent drove around the city and surrounding areas, trying to identify geolocations of the Defence Forces.
At the same time, he was trying to elicit information about the AFU from community members for whom he was doing repair work.
The individual marked the targets on a Google map to send a ‘report’ with the collected data to the FSB.
The SSU identified the aggressor’s informant at an early stage, documented his actions and detained him in his home.
Simultaneously, action was taken to protect locations of Ukrainian units.
During the search, a mobile phone with evidence of reconnaissance and sabotage for russia was seized from the detainee.
SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on transfer, movement of weapons, armaments and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or location of the AFU).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Mykolaiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
