SSU detains informant who passed intelligence to enemy on movement of Ukrainian combat helicopters over Kupiansk

As a result of counter-sabotage efforts in the frontline areas of Kharkiv region, the SSU detained an enemy informant.

The traitor collected intelligence for russian occupiers on locations and movements of Ukraine’s Defence Forces in Kupiansk district.

The aggressor was particularly interested in the flight directions of the AFU’s aviation, in particular attack helicopters.

The informant also passed to russians routes of movement of Ukrainian armoured units near the front line.

The spy sent the invaders photos of consequences of their air strikes on local civilian infrastructure, including apartment buildings.

According to the investigation, the offender is a local resident who was in ‘contact’ with a militant of the russian occupation forces on the eastern front.

The intelligence was sent through a closed chat in a messenger app.

During the search, the SSU seized the suspect’s mobile phone, used for communication with the aggressor.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the informant a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on shipping, transfer of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, on movement, transfer or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).

The detained individual is in custody, facing up to 8 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Kharkiv region carried out the counter-sabotage activities under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
