SSU detains russian informant who guided enemy missiles at civilian facilities in Donetsk region

As a result of counter-sabotage efforts in the frontline areas of eastern Ukraine, the SSU detained another russian agent.

The offender was collecting intelligence on location and movement of Ukrainian Defence Forces in Avdiivka sector.

He also passed to the aggressor coordinates of social infrastructure facilities in Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region.

The traitor ‘leaked’ the collected information to militant-controlled anonymous Telegram channels.

Occupiers used the obtained data to prepare and launch targeted missile and artillery strikes on Ukrainian towns.

According to the investigation, the enemy informant is a resident of Myrnohrad. He supported russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and shared his pro-kremlin views in banned social networks.

In this way, the man came to attention of the russian military intelligence, who involved him in subversive activities.

During the search at the suspect’s home, the SSU found mobile phones with evidence of communication with the enemy.

SSU investigators served the apprehended agent a notice of suspicion. The offender is now in custody.

The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
