SSU detains FSB informant about to disrupt supply of military equipment to southern front
In Zaporizhzhia, the SSU has detained another FSB agent. The perpetrator was tracking the intensity of traffic and approximate number of Ukrainian military echelons heading towards the frontline.
The woman paid special attention to the rolling stock transporting heavy weapons.
She was also instructed to identify geolocations of the Defence Forces repair bases near the railway stations.
The occupiers needed the intelligence to plan combat operations on the front line and prepare air strikes against the AFU and Ukrzaliznytsia [Ukrainian Railways].
To carry out the enemy’s orders, the FSB informant walked near the railway tracks and observed the traffic, recording the coordinates of possible repair bases of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
She also used her acquaintances and tried to elicit from them information on Ukrainian defenders.
The agent sent the collected data as marks on Google maps with detailed descriptions.
The SSU uncovered the traitor at an early stage. Action was taken to protect the AFU units, and the suspect was detained at her home.
According to the investigation, the aggressor recruited the asset remotely.
She came to the attention of the FSB through her anti-Ukrainian activity on social media. Further communication was carried out in an anonymous chat in a messenger app.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on transfer, movement or location of the AFU, if they can be identified on the ground).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 8 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Zaporizhzhia Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
