SSU detains traitor who passed intelligence to enemy on AFU positions near Sloviansk and called to kill Ukrainian PoWs

The SSU has detained another enemy informant in Donetsk oblast. The perpetrator was spying on the bases of Ukraine’s Defence Forces near Sloviansk and was waiting for a full occupation of the region.

According to the investigation, the woman walked around the frontline area trying to identify locations of fortifications and firing positions of Ukrainian artillery.

She also elicited information from her friends under the pretext of seemingly everyday conversations.

The intelligence was transmitted via a messenger to her friend, another traitor from the temporarily occupied part of the region, who is fighting on the russian side against Ukraine.

He passed the information to the officers from the russian military intelligence, stationed near the eastern frontline.

The occupiers hoped to use the data to carry out strikes on the AFU units with heavy artillery and guided aerial bombs.

The investigation also revealed that in communication with the militant the woman had advised him to kill Ukrainian prisoners of war instead of exchanging them.

After taking action to protect Ukrainian positions, the SSU detained the suspect in her home.

She is a 66-year-old ideological supporter of ruscism.

During the search, the investigators seized the mobile phone she used in the crime.

The SSU has served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2 .3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on transfer, movement of weapons, armaments and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or location of the AFU).

The suspect is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
