SSU detains collaborator who helped occupiers escape through forests from Ukrainian counteroffensive in Donetsk region
In the course of stabilization measures in the liberated areas, the SSU located and detained another collaborator. During the temporary occupation of Lyman community, he informed ruscists on location of members of the resistance movement.
In addition, the enemy accomplice showed the aggressors the houses of local farmers who left the region. First, the invaders looted such households, and then accommodated their personnel there and hid military equipment in the yards.
During Ukraine’s counteroffensive in Donetsk region, the criminal helped occupiers escape from Ukrainian troops through forests. Then, he tried to hide from justice.
However, the SSU exposed him after the de-occupation of the area.
According to the investigation, the detainee is a resident of Staryi Karavan village, Donetsk region, who voluntarily began cooperating with the enemy after the full-scale invasion happened. The collaborator provided the occupiers with personal data of Ukrainian patriots and addresses of their relatives.
These data were used by russian punitive squads to carry out repressions against locals.
The SSU notified the detainee of suspicion of crime under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (assisting the aggressor state’s illegal armed groups in conducting hostilities against the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations).
The court chose custody as a measure of restraint.
The SSU warns: punishment for crimes against Ukraine’s state security is inevitable.
The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
