SSU detains collaborator who helped ruscists transport looted property to occupied Luhansk
In the course of stabilization efforts in the liberated areas of Luhansk region, the SSU exposed another enemy accomplice.
The offender is a former employee of a local farm. After the area was captured, he supported russian invaders and voluntarily collaborated with them.
The man offered the occupiers to use his private house as barracks for military personnel.
14 invaders were housed there, and a weapons and ammo depot was set up.
To ‘quarter’ other russian soldiers, their accomplice gave the addresses of locals who had moved to the Ukraine-controlled territory.
The investigation established that in early March 2022 the ruscists had shelled one of the nearby villages and then drove people out of their homes.
After that, the occupiers entered the empty houses and stole the property.
The looted items were handed over to this collaborator, who delivered them to Luhansk to sell or give to militants’ relatives. From Luhansk, the man would bring vodka and cigarettes for the russian servicemen.
The offender also drove russian commanders in his own car and used a tractor to help pull their APCs out of mud.
For his collaboration, he received a pass that allowed him to move freely in the temporarily occupied territory of eastern Ukraine.
Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under the Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (assistance to military units of aggressor state in conducting warfare against the AFU).
The court chose custody as a measure of restraint.
The suspect is facing up to 15 years in prison.
The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation and investigation under the procedural supervision of Luhansk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
