SSU detains collaborator who looked for pro-Ukrainian partisans in temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia oblast

In Kyiv, the SSU detained a collaborator, a member of the occupation ‘main directorate of russia’s ministry of internal affairs in Zaporizhzhia region’.

The traitor is a native of Mariupol, who moved to the then-occupied Melitopol after the start of russia’s full-scale invasion.

There, the man began to cooperate with the ruscists. In late April 2022, he was appointed a ‘patrol policeman’ of the local unit of ‘russian interior ministry’.

In this ‘position’, he actively participated in russian punitive raids against the resistance movement.

The investigation established that the collaborator had been instructed to identify locations of members of Ukrainian resistance, in particular, the Yellow Ribbon movement.

In July 2022, the collaborator, realizing the inevitability of punishment for his crimes, decided to ‘resign’ from the pseudo-agency and moved to Ukraine-controlled territory.

The man arrived in Kyiv as an IDP and tried to hide from justice at his friends’ place.

As a result of an operation, the SSU and the National Police found and detained him.

Based on the collected evidence, the detained individual was served a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Article 111-1.7 of the CCU).

The suspect is custody, facing up to 15 years in prison.

The SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region carried out the operation jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
