SSU detains collaborator involved in "executions" during occupation of Mykolaiv region
The SSU detained another ruscist accomplice as a result of stabilization activities in the de-occupied areas of Mykolaiv region.
The offender is a local resident who, during the temporary occupation of the region, collaborated with russian invaders in the war against Ukraine.
The traitor was a member of russian punitive squads which carried out raids against the resistance movement. Ukrainian patriots were abducted, detained in torture chambers and tortured.
According to the investigation, the collaborator was directly involved in these crimes.
It was established that he helped the ruscists to intimidate local residents by "staging executions": they forced people to stand against a wall, pointed firearms at them and fired shots at dangerously close range.
In this way, the occupiers tried to persuade Ukrainians to cooperate or provide secret information.
SSU officers received testimonies from seven victims.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under the Articles 27.5, 28.2 and 438.1 of the CCU (violations of laws and customs of war).
The suspect is in custody, facing up to 12 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Mykolaiv region jointly with the National Police of Ukraine under the procedural supervision of Mykolaiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
