SSU detains collaborator who smuggled over 1,000 tons of Ukrainian grain from Kharkiv region to russia
In the course of stabilization efforts in the liberated districts of Kharkiv oblast, the SSU detained another enemy accomplice.
The offender is a 40-year-old private entrepreneur from Kupiansk district, who was engaged in growing and wholesaling of agricultural crops.
After part of the region was captured, the businessman supported russian invaders and voluntarily began to cooperate with the local occupation administration.
According to the investigation, in August 2022 he received a so-called ‘trade patent for grain trade’ from the aggressor.
The collaborator also undertook ‘obligations’ to pay taxes to the budget of the aggressor state.
Within a month, he illegally exported over 1,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat to russia, worth almost UAH 5 mln (USD 133,000).
There, the trader sold agricultural products to russian monopolists and received payments in rubles.
After the liberation of the area, the offender tried to lie low and evade justice.
However, the SSU found and detained him.
Based on the collected evidence, the entrepreneur was served a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Article 111-1.4 of the CCU).
The court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Kharkiv region carried out the operation jointly with the National Police investigators under the procedural supervision of Kupiansk District Prosecutor’s Office.
