The SSU Counterintelligence has exposed a collaborator who tried to escape to the occupied territory and pass personal data of Ukrainian servicemen and information on mobilization in Odesa region to militants of the so-called DNR.

The traitor turned out to be a local resident who, with the start of russia’s full-scale invasion, engaged in pro-russian activities.

First of all, he established contacts with the leadership of the DNR terrorist organization and representatives of the so-called ‘DNR ministry of internal affairs’ and ‘MGB of DNR’.

The collaborator began to administer one of the anti-Ukrainian groups in the blocked social network VKontakte, where he organized a fundraiser for the ‘DNR army’.

In his posts, he justified russia’s armed aggression, called for trespassing Ukraine’s territorial integrity, glorified russia and its army, spread fakes and discredited Ukrainian defenders.

Later, he agreed to swear allegiance to the terrorist organization DNR and was supposed to leave for Donetsk region.

He even took with him a ‘bonus’ for the enemy: information on defence and mobilization in Odesa region. He obtained this intelligence through his contacts in local government. In the past, he several times stood for election to the local council.

However, the traitor’s plan failed - the SSU detained him in Zaporizhzhia during a multi-stage special operation carried out by the SSU Chernivtsi Office.

The collaborator has been notified of suspicion of participation in a terrorist group and collaboration.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Chernivtsi Office jointly with the SSU Zaporizhzhia Office under the procedural supervision of Chernivtsi Region Prosecutor’s Office.
