SSU detains collaborator who headed occupation ‘russian post’ in Kharkiv region

In the de-occupied areas of Kharkiv region, the SSU located and detained another enemy accomplice.

After part of the region was captured, the woman voluntarily joined the occupation administration and headed the local ‘post office’ set up by the invaders.

Shortly after ‘appointment’, the collaborator robbed one of local Ukrposhta offices and handed over to the aggressors almost UAH 2 mln (USD 49,500) paid by citizens for services of the state-owned enterprise.

The offender was also fulfilling the enemy’s task to form a russian-controlled postal network in the cities of Balakliya and Izium.

According to the investigation, the occupiers’ accomplice is a former employee of a regional division of the joint-stock postal company. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, she supported the invaders, for which received a ‘position’ in the occupation authorities.

To ‘launch’ post offices in the captured districts, the collaborator tried to restore contacts with her former colleagues who left the region. From them, she planned to obtain electronic keys to the administration systems and subscriber databases.

The traitor also called other postal workers to take side with the enemy and transfer Ukrposhta’s state property to russia.

After the liberation of the region, the collaborator tried to hide from justice. However, the SSU exposed and detained her.

The detainee was notified of suspicion of crime under Article 111-1.5 of the CCU; court chose custody as a measure of restraint.

The crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

The SSU Cyber Security Department carried out the operation jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
