SSU detains collaborator involved in organizing fake referendum during Chornobaivka’s occupation
The SSU Counterintelligence has apprehended another organizer of the sham referendum which the invaders held during the occupation of the right-bank Kherson region.
The suspect is a 36-year-old resident of Chornobaivka, who, after the occupation of the village, supported the occupiers and cooperated with them.
For this, she was appointed to the local ‘election commission’ created by the aggressor and received ‘privileges’ to freely move in the district.
In the invading institution, the woman followed moscow’s instructions to hold the fake plebiscite in the autumn of 2022.
To do this, the ‘official’ visited local homes and urged the residents to take part in the ‘referendum’ and ‘vote’ in favour of the aggressor state.
During such ‘visits’, the collaborator was accompanied by armed occupiers who helped intimidate the villagers and force them to put ‘signatures’ in kremlin’s support.
After the liberation of the right-bank Kherson region, she was hiding from justice for a long time. However, the SSU tracked her down.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Articles 28.2, 111-1.5 of the CCU (collaboration committed by a group of persons upon prior conspiracy).
The investigation is ongoing. The suspect is in custody, facing up to 10 years in prison.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Kherson Region Prosecutor’s Office.
