In Kyiv, the SSU CI detained a former militant of the ‘DNR’ terrorist organization, head of the illegal prison ‘Izoliatsiia’ on the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region.

According to findings, this individual organized and directly participated in the murders and torture of Ukrainian citizens.

Currently, due steps within the criminal procedure are carried out in relation to the former militant, in particular, delivering him to the court to choose a measure of restraint and obtaining additional information on his illegal activities.

The suspect was detained within the criminal proceedings opened earlier under the following Articles of the Criminal code of Ukraine:

• Art. 149 (human trafficking);
• Art. 258-3 (creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization);
• Art. 260 (creation of paramilitary or armed formations not stipulated by law);
• Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war).

The SSU CI carried out the operation together with the National Police investigators under the supervision of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
