SSU detains former ‘head of Kherson railway station’ who helped russia move military echelons to Ukraine

In the course of stabilization efforts in the liberated Kherson, the SSU detained another enemy accomplice.

The offender is a local resident who supported russian invaders at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

After Kherson was seized, the man voluntarily collaborated with the enemy and joined russia’s local occupation administration.

There, he was appointed the head of the city station, which was part of the ‘unitary enterprise Kherson Railway’ established by the aggressor.

In this ‘position’, the collaborator helped ruscists to establish railroad connections for the needs of the occupation groupings on the southern front.

The railway station chief participated in organizing unimpeded transportation of military equipment, weapons and ammunition from russia on to the then captured Kherson.

For this purpose, he gave criminal orders to his subordinates. In case of refusal or failure to comply with illegal instructions, the collaborator threatened to ‘hand over’ such persons to the russian punitive bodies.

After Kherson’s liberation, the traitor tried to lie low and evade justice.

However, the SSU found and detained him.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the former occupation ‘official’ a notice of suspicion under Article 111-2.1 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state).

The court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint. The investigation is underway.

The SSU is investigating the proceeding under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
