SSU detains traitor who wanted to help russia hit military facilities in Kharkiv

The SSU has apprehended another enemy informant in Kharkiv. He is a 60-year-old ex-security guard of commercial facilities who decided to become a spotter and adjust enemy strikes on Ukraine.

The individual was to direct a strike at a Ukrainian military facility located near his home.

To do that, the informant took several photos from the window of his apartment and sent them to his russian handler via a messenger app.

The man was to make further photo reports with a view of the AFU base after the enemy strike: to determine the point of impact and the consequences.

The ruscists planned to use missile weapons and super-heavy guided aircraft bombs for the attack.

The SSU uncovered the traitor at an early stage and detained him.

While documenting his crime, the investigators established that he additionally had reconnoitered several other targets for enemy bombing.

During the reconnaissance missions, the informant walked around the area and covertly recorded locations of Ukrainian defenders.

For secrecy, he constantly changed his routes and communicated with the occupiers through an anonymous messenger account.

SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under of Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on movement, transfer or location of the AFU, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody without the right to be released on bail and faces up to 8 years in prison.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
