The SSU has prevented new russian attempts to strike the defense lines of Kharkiv.

As a result of a special operation in the frontline region, a group of russian agents that was preparing a series of air attacks on Ukrainian positions have been neutralized.

The main targets of the aggressor included fortifications and strongholds of Ukrainian troops defending the regional center.

The occupiers planned to use powerful guided aerial bombs to strike the AFU locations.

The invaders remotely involved two of their accomplices from Kharkiv to adjust the guided bombs.

Under the guise of private repairmen, they drove around the region, secretly recording the locations of Ukrainian troops and defense lines.

Both suspects used a messenger to pass the intelligence to their russian liaison.

The said person is their acquaintance, a local resident who moved to temporarily occupied Donetsk in 2014 and joined the russian special forces.

He had to provide the russian intelligence service with the current coordinates for preparing an air strike in Kharkiv region.

However, the SSU has exposed the enemy's plans at the initial stage.

The SSU has documented the agents’ activity and taken comprehensive measures to secure the positions of Ukrainian troops.

At the final stage of the special operation, both criminals were detained in their homes. During the search, SSU officers seized their cell phones, used to communicate with the occupiers.

SSU investigators have now served the senior russian agent a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

The actions of his accomplice are classified under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on directing, movement of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU).

Both offenders are in custody facing from 8 years in prison to life imprisonment.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office.
