The SSU CI detained another fsb informant in Zaporizhzhia. In October this year, the agent got a job in the regional military administration to carry out hostile tasks.
Working in the cybersecurity unit, he tried to collect intelligence on the deployment of the Armed Forces and defense procurement in the region.
To obtain secret information, the russian mole attempted to access the servers of the government agency.
However, SSU officers detained the offender preventing the passing of intelligence to the aggressor.
According to the investigation, the enemy informant is a resident of Zaporizhzhia and a specialist in radio engineering. Previously, he worked at a local army maintenance enterprise.
It was established that in September this year, the traitor offered the occupiers his "assistance" in the war against Ukraine in one of the russian chatbots created to collect information about the movement of the Armed Forces units in the frontline regions.
Later, he was remotely contacted by an fsb officer and involved in cooperation. Following the instructions of the russian special service, the offender secretly recorded the plant's production facilities and military equipment on his phone.
In addition, he tried to detect repair facilities and other logistics hubs of Ukrainian defenders in the regional center.
To communicate with the occupiers, their accomplice used anonymous chats in a messenger.
During searches of the detainee’s home, a mobile phone with evidence of subversive activity in the interests of russia was seized.
The offender was notified of suspicion. He is in custody facing up to 12 years in prison.
The SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of regional Prosecutor’s Office.
