Donetsk region: SSU detains militant who fled from abuse of Russian supervisors (video)
The SSU continues to take steps to expose and bring to justice members of IAFs in Eastern Ukraine. In an operation, the SSU jointly with the Armed Forces of Ukraine detained an enemy spy on the contact line.
A disassembled Kalashnikov assault rifle was seized from the detainee.
According to preliminary data, the militant left the ranks of his unit and fled from temporarily occupied territories because of constant mockery and abuse by the leaders and supervisors from Russia.
It was established that the detainee was a resident of Donetsk region, who in 2019 voluntarily joined the militants. There, he was responsible for reconnaissance at a unit involved in shelling of Ukrainian positions.
The SSU investigators have notified the individual of suspicion of crimes under Article 258-3.1 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization), Article 110.2 (trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) of the CCU.
The court has chosen detention as a measure of restraint.
The pre-trial investigation is underway.
The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation under the supervision of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
