SBU detains corrupt head of Chernihiv District State Administration (video)
The SBU detained a head of Chernihiv District State Administration on taking a bribe.
SBU operatives established that the official, who is also a deputy of Chernihiv Regional Council, demanded USD 10,000 from a local resident. For this, he promised to issue an order to develop a detailed plan of the territory and to approve changes of the intended purpose of land plots (6 hectares) in Chernihiv region.
According to Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, law enforcement officers detained the offender on receiving the full sum of bribe.
Searches are currently underway at offender’s offices and residence.
Investigative actions to establish other possible facts of corruption by the detainee are ongoing within the criminal proceeding initiated for taking a bribe.
The operation was carried out jointly with the Main Investigation Department of the National Police under the legal supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
