In Poltava region, the SBU detained a head of a department of the State Tax Service on bribery.

The operatives established that the official systematically demanded money from companies for not interfering with their financial activity. In particular, for an enterprise the official set a “fee” in the amount of 2.5% of the enterprise’s total financial turnover.

The law enforcement detained the offender in his office while receiving a bribe.

The issue of serving the offender a notice of suspicion of taking a bribe is being resolved. A type of detention is being chosen.

The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was conducted jointly with the State Bureau of Investigation under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
