Kharkiv region: SSU detains local council deputy who worked for ruscists and provided them with food during occupation

In the liberated districts of Kharkiv region, the SSU exposed another enemy accomplice among local officials. This is a member of Kupiansk district council, who voluntarily collaborated with the occupiers and organized wholesale supplies of food from his own enterprise.

Being director general of the local dairy cannery, he ‘reorganized’ its work in favor of the aggressor state after the region was occupied.

To do this, the official ‘re-registered’ the joint-stock company in the so-called ‘tax service’ of the occupation administration. Then, he opened accounts in a russian bank and transferred all operations to rubles.

In this way, he ensured regular supply of industrial volumes of dairy products for the needs of the invaders in the temporarily occupied territory.

Under just one ‘supply contract’, his company delivered to the occupied Luhansk up to 20,000 items worth almost UAH 1 mln.

Based on the collected evidence, the SSU detained the suspect in Kupiansk.

During the searches of the suspects’ homes, the law enforcement found:

  • documents with evidence of cooperation with the aggressor;
  • russian bank cards;
  • over RUB 500,000 in cash, obtained by criminal means.

The detainee was notified of suspicion under Article 111-2.1 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state); court chose custody as a measure of restraint.

In addition, the SSU is verifying if the suspect was collecting and passing intelligence to the enemy on location and movement of Ukrainian troops.

The SSU Office in Kharkiv Region carried out the operation jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Kupiansk District Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv region.
