SSU detains ‘official’ of Balakliia occupation administration
In the course of stabilization measures in the liberated districts of Kharkiv region, the SSU exposed another collaborator.
When Balakliia was captured, the individual voluntarily joined the occupation administration and was appointed ‘assistant to chief of a directorate of Balakliia Interim Civil Administration’.
While in the ‘position’, the collaborator facilitated a forced ‘re-registration’ of local business in favor of the aggressor state.
To do this, he held collective ‘meetings’ of entrepreneurs and urged them to adjust their economic activities to russia’s needs and pay ‘taxes’ to its budget.
Among the main tasks that he set for small and medium businesses was to fill wholesale warehouses with food; the ‘assistant’ also gave instructions on goods and services that were allowed to be sold in the town.
If entrepreneurs disagreed, the collaborator applied restrictions on commercial activity, banning to sell certain products and services.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is a local, who began working for occupiers in early May.
To show his loyalty, he concluded an ‘employment contract’ with the occupation administration.
After Balakliia’s liberation, the man tried to ‘get lost’ among locals and avoid justice.
However, the SSU located him, documented the crime and detained the traitor.
The detainee was notified of suspicion of offense under the Article 111-1.5 of the CCU (collaboration).
Court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint.
The SSU Office in Kharkiv region exposed the offender jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Izium District Prosecutor’s Office.
