Kherson region: SSU detains another three collaborators who threatened with prison for refusal to ‘vote’ in sham referendum

In the course of stabilization efforts in the liberated districts of Kherson oblast, the SSU exposed another three enemy accomplices.

The offenders are representatives of the former russian occupation administration who organized the fake plebiscite on the oblast’s ‘accession’ to the aggressor state.

The investigation established that after the capture of Beryslav district they had voluntarily cooperated with the russian invaders.

One of the collaborators was appointed ‘deputy head of the referendum commission’, the other two became members of ‘district election commissions’.

While in their ‘positions’, they fulfilled moscow’s task to ensure the ‘results’ of the kremlin project.

To do this, together with armed occupiers, they went around neighbourhoods and ‘collected the votes.’

In case of refusal, the ‘referendum’ officials used psychological pressure and threatened to imprison the locals in russian prisons.

The collaborators passed the filled ‘ballots’ to the so-called ‘heads of election commissions’ for further falsification of the ‘voting’ results.

After the liberation of a part of Kherson oblast, the offenders tried to hide from justice.

However, the SSU found and detained them.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified the detained individuals of suspicion of collaboration (Articles 28.2, 111-1 of the CCU).

The suspects are now in custody, facing up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The SSU Office in Kherson regions carried out the operation and investigative activities under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
