SSU detains top ‘official’ of occupation ‘russian railways’ in Kupiansk

In the course of stabilization efforts in the liberated areas of Kharkiv oblast, the SSU exposed another collaborator.

The offender is a 46-year-old Kupiansk resident, who headed the freight division at Ukrzaliznytsia regional branch before russia’s full-scale invasion.

During the temporary occupation, he sided with the enemy and voluntarily agreed to join the so-called ‘Kupiansk railway of russia’ established by the invaders.

The collaborator was appointed head of the ‘commercial and marketing service’.

In this ‘position’, the ‘official’ helped establish a railway connection with the aggressor state to ensure unimpeded transfer of russian troops to the eastern front.

For this purpose, he organized ‘reformatting’ of Ukrainian documents to comply with requirements of russian legislation.

After Kupiansk’s liberation, the traitor left the city and tried to evade justice. However, the SSU identified his location and detained him.

The enemy accomplice has now been served a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Article 111-1.4 of the CCU). The court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint. The suspect is facing imprisonment.

The SSU Kharkiv Office carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
