SSU detains organizer of pro-kremlin provocations in Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

In Kyiv, the SSU neutralized subversive activities of another anti-Ukrainian religious blogger who spread kremlin narratives and organized paid ‘protests’.

The suspect is the deputy head of a pro-russian organization United Fatherland and a member of a religious and political organization of the russian Orthodox Church Union of Orthodox Brotherhoods of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the man was one of the organizers of provocations on the territory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in late March 2023.

At that time, the blogger incited people to riots and gave interviews, in which he falsely accused Ukraine of starting the war.

He also recorded and broadcast his destructive speeches on ‘the Holy Rus’ YouTube channel, which has over 23,000 subscribers.

After the full-scale invasion, the ‘activist’ publicly supported the aggressive policy of russia’s military and political leadership and justified the seizure of Ukrainian territories.

During the searches at the suspect’s home, the SSU found computer equipment and mobile phones with evidence of his unlawful activities. The SSU also seized prohibited symbols and printed materials used by radical nationalist entities of the aggressor state.

Based on the collected evidence, the blogger was served a notice of suspicion under Article 436-2.3 of the CCU (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The court chose custody as a measure of restraint for the suspect. The investigation is underway.

The offender is facing up to 8 years in prison.

The activities were carried out under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
