SSU detains FSB agents: married couple who prepared missile strikes on Kharkiv and Sumy regions

The SSU has detained a wife and a husband who worked for the FSB and prepared coordinates for a new russian missile attack on the Defense Forces in Kharkiv and Sumy regions.

The enemy’s main targets were the staffs and fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service.

The aggressor was also interested in the geolocations of logistical bases and depots with weapons and ammunition for Ukrainian troops.

To collect intelligence, the FSB involved its agent from Sumy oblast, who worked in Kharkiv as a nurse at a local medical facility.

The woman elicited information from her colleagues about the locations of the Defense Forces in Kharkiv region.

She also involved her husband in the criminal activity. He is a former employee of the disbanded ‘militsiya’ [police force in Ukraine until 2015] and lived in Okhtyrka, Sumy region.

At his wife’s request, the man walked around the border area to identify the locations of Ukrainian defenders.

He also tried to elicit information from his acquaintances, hoping that they would unwittingly reveal some data useful for the aggressor.

The asset sent the data to his wife via a messenger app, and she then reported it to her moscow handler. The SSU has already identified the latter.

According to the investigation, the woman came to the FSB’s attention because of her pro-kremlin views, which she repeatedly expressed on Telegram channels.

Her husband supported the aggressor state too and hoped that the region would be occupied by russian troops.

During the search of the suspects’ homes, the SSU seized mobile phones and SIM cards with evidence of their criminal actions.

SSU investigators have served the woman a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

Her husband is suspected under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on transfer, movement of weapons, armaments and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or location of the AFU or other lawful military formations, committed under martial law).

The suspects are in custody and face from 8 years to life imprisonment.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Sumy Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
