SSU detains enemy accomplice who helped ruscists escape from Ukraine’s counteroffensive in Kherson

The SSU has apprehended a traitor who collaborated with the invaders during the occupation of the right-bank part of Kherson. Just before the city’s de-occupation, the man helped the russians flee from the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

To do this, he provided the ruscists with information about local owners of boats and speedboats and then came to them with armed russian servicemen who took the water transport.

The SSU also documented the episode when the occupiers broke into a garage with motor boats and stole them.

The enemy marked the water vehicles with the letter ‘Z’ and used them to transport troops and employees of the occupation authorities to the left-bank part of the region.

Fleeing from Ukrainian defenders, the ruscists abandoned their accomplice, who then went to his relatives in Mykolaiv oblast, trying to hide from justice.

However, the SSU found the suspect and detained him. This is a 44-year-old resident of Kherson who supported the aggressor after the full-scale invasion.

Based on the evidence, the detained individual was served a notice of suspicion under Article 111-2.1 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state).

The suspect is in custody, facing up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operation was conducted by the SSU Office in Kherson region together with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
